Brew Methods
Great coffee deserves to be brewed with intention. Whether you prefer the simplicity of drip, the precision of pour over, or the strength of espresso, the foundation stays the same — quality beans, proper ratios, and attention to detail.
Drip Coffee (Automatic Brewer)
Balanced. Consistent. Dependable.
Drip brewing is simple and reliable — perfect for daily rhythm and steady mornings.
Recommended Ratio:
1:16 (1 gram coffee to 16 grams water)
Example: 60g coffee per 1 liter (34 oz) water
Grind Size: Medium (similar to sea salt)
Water Temperature: 195–205°F
Pro Tip:
Use filtered water and weigh your coffee for consistency. A small adjustment in grind size can dramatically improve flavor clarity.
Drip coffee highlights balance and smoothness — making it ideal for approachable, everyday drinking.
Pour Over
Intentional. Clean. Refined.
Pour over brewing gives you full control over extraction, producing a bright and expressive cup that highlights origin character.
Recommended Ratio:
1:15–1:17 depending on strength preference
Example: 20g coffee to 300–340g water
Grind Size: Medium-fine (slightly finer than drip)
Water Temperature: 200°F
Method Overview:
-
Rinse filter.
-
Bloom coffee for 30–45 seconds (2x water weight).
-
Pour slowly in controlled circles.
-
Total brew time: 2.5–3.5 minutes.
Pour over allows every bean’s story to come through — clarity, sweetness, and complexity.
Espresso
Bold. Structured. Concentrated.
Espresso is intensity refined. Under pressure, coffee reveals its depth — body, sweetness, and structure.
Recommended Ratio (Starting Point):
1:2 (Example: 18g in → 36g out)
Grind Size: Fine
Extraction Time: 25–30 seconds
Water Temperature: 198–202°F
Pro Tip:
Dial in by adjusting grind size first. Too sour? Grind finer. Too bitter? Grind slightly coarser.
Espresso showcases strength and balance — the foundation for lattes, cappuccinos, or a straight shot with rich crema.
